On the following pages you will find the ranting and errant ramblings of this feeble little mind as it tries to wrap itself around some of the memories of the past in the ever elusive attempt to recapture that softer gentler time we all yearn for but rarely find.
In some cases I think I come fairly close. Not all of my recollections are from the distance past; some in fact are not that long ago. For instance, can you remember the golden age of $2.00 a gallon gasoline? Or perhaps $1.35 a gallon milk?
Well to be fair not everything is worse than times gone by, I mean after all our cars can now talk to us and ask us for example; after we crash into a tree if it should notify the authorities to send medical help. Or remind us it’s time to change the oil!
Or the fast and friendly express line at the grocery store where with the advent of the debt card one can take their 15 items or less and with just a swipe and the push of a few buttons you are happily on your way! That is of course if you’re not behind the dinosaur that still uses paper checks for God’s sake! I mean come on! You would think they would get the hint when the clerk takes the check then has to check identification, record the driver’s license number, runs the check through the printer and then hands the check back to the stunned customer, because the transaction, taking four times longer is exactly the same as a debt card transaction! Could you tell your friend (you know who they are) to move into the 21st century already!?
Well I hope this gives you a small glimpse of the mind that you will encounter here and I hope you find it if not informative, at least humorous.
