While visiting a friend who just had a beautiful baby girl, I was relating some childhood stories that seemed to make her laugh and she thought it would be a good idea to share some of them with you. So I hope you enjoy it as much as she did.
When I was about 8 or 10, it has been so long ago I forget, I have an Aunt that at the time of this story had been married for several years and at that time I believe she had three children. I won’t mention my Aunt’s name as she reads my posts all the time (well at least she did up to now) and she knows who she is and so does all the family but I don’t wish to embarrass her in front of the whole world.
Anyway, we were all at my Grandfathers and for some reason we were all in the house, which was a most unusual event because as kids my cousins and I were always outside unless we were eating, bathing, sleeping or going to the bathroom. Well we boys didn’t need to go in for the later we would pee on anything anytime anywhere! But that is another story.
We were in the living room as I remember it and my Aunt looked out the window and saw something that made her blood boil. She hollered for my Grandfather whom she called Dad; Dad, would you just look at this, hurry, can you believe this?
My Grandfather thinking someone was being killed came running and looked out the window desperately searching for the horrible sight he knew must be there, but didn’t see anything out of the normal. What? What’s wrong? What are you hollering about? Well my Aunt’s face was red with anger at what she thought transpired. Just look at those poor dogs! Some mean kid has tied their back legs together as some misguided prank; if I get my hands on whoever it was I’ll thrash them to within an inch of lives.
Well now I just had to see what this was all about, so I rushed to the window and saw two dogs standing back to back and it seemed that when they tried to move in different directions they were indeed stuck! Being the wise old age of 8 or 10 I knew exactly what the problem was and laughed so hard I think I may have pee’d a little. My Grandfather laughed so hard I thought he was going to pull something.
For those of you that know what I’m talking about I decided not to give away the answer here so that you too can share in the fun. If you have a friend or family member that you think might have the same reaction as my Aunt please print this out and have some fun.
