Day 27 & 28

Off across New Mexico, past Albuquerque and a stop in famous Roswell, (to check in with the mother ship) and then the long trip across the west Texas plains. If I make this I’ll be home. I was thinking about my trip and I think I have three events that stand out in my mind as pivotal, first is when as I believe, Dolores saved my life by jamming my electronic navigator causing me to pull over to reset it and thus reducing my speed from 75mph to 25mph when the rear tire on the bike blew out. Second was God on the mountain, when I believe my will was tested while going over Wolf Creek Pass. I was hailed on most of the way up and sleeted on all the way down. I think God wondered if I would turn around and abandon my quest of reaching Dolores Colorado, to scatter her ashes. And third, the Devil in the desert, as I like to think of it, when I had to skirt around wildfires on my way to Roswell.

But my trip across New Mexico was a vista and most enjoyable. It was hot, no getting around that, but it was worth the doing. This is going to be a short post so I will put in some pictures to give you something to look at. My next post will be from home and be the last from the trip. Give me a couple of days to collect my thoughts. I want to thank all of you that have followed me across the country and I hope you enjoyed the journey.

From somewhere on the backroads,

The Demonmaster

Rick,
Welcome home.
That was a long journey, but it is one you will never forget. I am sure it has cleared your mind and soul and you will have strong, but enjoyable memories. The events of the past month will take a while to set in, but they will all be great memories. Thanks for inviting us along on the trip.
