Day 9 & 10

                                                                      It is a fun trip up to Wi Ni Village Resort on Cherokee Lake, near Rutledge, Tennessee which is the home of Richard and Elizabeth Dolores’ other aunt. I’m happy to get to finally see all her aunts after all the times we talked about coming to visit. Funny how you talk about doing things that somehow you never take the time to do. Well if I have not learned anything else, my Dolores has taught me to never wait again, just do it!

        This is the perfect place to recover from all the hours and miles on the road in the hot sun. I plan to stay two days to catch up on posting and to recharge my batteries. It is a good place to reflect and work out some personal things as well.

        I’m in the heart of Grainger County, which means the world famous Grainger County Tomatoes! That’s right Jane, I ate one and it is most delicious. I hope to pack a few away to take along on the trip. Most all of these tomatoes are grown within just a few miles of Wi Ni Village. It must be something in the soil that makes them taste so good.

        The beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains is just what my soul needs. I feel Dolores near me at times like this because I think our strongest bond was just sitting together quietly. I feel her head on my shoulder and her hand gently resting on my face, just like before as she slept while sitting on my lap almost every day of our life together.

        I can’t thank Richard and Elizabeth enough for making me feel right at home and like one of the family. I hope one day to visit again. I keep saying I am going to add more pictures but it seems every time I go someplace I forget to take the camera. I hope this is enough to give you a glimpse.

        Next stop the Combs Farm near Pine Knot Kentucky. Until then…..
